God hears our prayers


This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 1 John 5:14

I was so annoyed.

No matter how much I tried to calmly discuss the matter with the person in charge of my bill, I was told that nothing should or would be changed. Even though I was mad, I wanted to honor God with my response. I quickly tried to say a prayer asking for discernment and quickly left after paying the full bill.

Later at home, I went over all my paperwork and was even more convinced that I was right in my assessment of the situation. There was mistake and even though I had tried to explain why I saw it that way, it seemed to have fallen on deaf ears. I debated: it wouldn’t be very hard to cancel my check, there was still time.

Finally, I made up my mind. Leaving the check alone, I would call the office in the morning and ask the person in charge to review my account one last time.

If they saw the mistake, I would get back the cost of the check; if not, I would let it go knowing that I did my best. [Read more...]
